ABOUT THE ARTISTHi, my name is Lisa Hornor and I am an artist/designer. I was hit with a vision, like a bolt of lightning. I heard a voice say, “No-thing Stands By The Hand Of God.” Three weeks later, a painting, came to me fully formed and I painted Jesus, His Hands and Face engulfed by a giant wave. In 2006, GodPower tees was born. It began as an apparel line to glorify God. I created the first line of t shirts for guys and girls called, “The Wave” line. These were locally made and silk screened in South Florida, the t shirts and tanks were either made in America or South America of 100% cotton. I create the art, then put it through the computer, I don’t retouch the paintings and most of the line drawings to keep them as close as the art looks. The soft shirts featured different pieces of wave artwork in dynamic and eye catching colors and art. This line did well. I sold at markets, surf shops and christian bookstores and people responded. Following the success of this line, I created my second line known as “Genesis”. Once again, God continued to inspire me with this brand known as Spiritual Surf Wear. The concept this time revolved around the angels of the Bible, Michael, Raphael and Gabriel. I wanted to convey the mighty power these spirits possess and the concept of God’s Sovereign Protection. We hope to provoke thought in the person wearing them and have them know that they are always protected and loved by God. Spiritual surf wear hopes for you, that Power and indomainable spirit to put God 1st and get to know so you will use your gifts and let your inner light out! | About the Artist, by Lisa Hornor“I had painted the”Nativity” for a church in the yr. 2000 at Christmas time. In 2001 in March, I was walking to my car when I saw the “Resurrection, Jesus in Wave” painting of Christ Jesus in my head and immediately had a sense my life was going to change direction and it was scary! First of all, I really liked my life just the way it was and had no intention of changing it. (I just knew I couldn’t ignore the painting that I saw) That was it. I, bought a 3 ft x 4 ft canvas and went to work laying out the painting. Two weeks later while I was in a deep sleep I heard the Word, It was a thunderous roar and scared me especially since I was sleeping and wasn’t dreaming. I heard this voice say “No -thing Stands By The Hand Of God”, (Isaiah 7:7) woke straight up and wrote it down. I wasn’t sure what it meant, but I was sure that whether or not you ask God what it is you should do, God answers when you least expect, like 4:00am. That was it, by April 2001, I had 2 paintings and Inspired by God just happened. I turned my life upside down and inside out. I only know there seemed to be nothing to do but put my trust in God. It was hard, but something seemed very right about it. I saw and painted the first 4 paintings between the years 2000 to 2005, but I kept wavering with my life not wanting to let go of people and things in it. Finally, (because my restlessness would not leave me and I was open enough to keep seeing and experiencing God. I knew I had to give up my life to see the life that was ahead of me and I did. (and yes I cryed a lot for a while). See, even though I did everything to follow the direction I had seen, I was not open to a brand new future so I was blocking myself. I could not do this on my own and one day I just surrendered to the Will of God and quit trying to be in charge of it all. Because I did not truly understand, I was stubborn, it took me until 2005 for me to change complete direction and go with the Spirit of God and that is when I was totally set free creatively to be able to use the gifts that were given to me. I am very happy I finally got it. All I know is, it is what it is and I am a piece of the chain that is sooooo very large. I was tested and still am. I started to truly know God loves us and is “a LIVING FORCE” in me and all of us. We are as unique and as individual as our thumb print. This is my own story and you have your own story and they will be different, yet we will have much in common….in the Love of God. Amen!
